Thank you for your support

Firstly, we would like to say a BIG thank you for all your support with Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. This year we hope to raise $1.8 million in Victoria alone and with your help we are confident that we will get there.

We just wanted to take this time to thank you for all your wonderful support and to share with you some of the ‘special’ events that we have heard about that were held around Victoria.

If you have any pictures or stories from your event that you would like to share with us, we would love to hear them. Don’t forget to email them to mailto:biggestmorningtea@cancervic.org.au.

We are already preparing for next year’s campaign and would like your help in updating our kit materials.

If you have the time, please help us by filling it out - it's all online and I imagine will take less than 5 minutes. We really appreciate your help and as reward everyone who completes the survey will go in the draw to WIN two night’s accommodation in a Standard City View Room plus two buffet breakfasts each morning, at Mercure Accor hotel.

Thank you once again for all your fantastic efforts.

The Tramcar Event

Reflections from the host Tracey Davis -

Melbourne Business Network and Collins Street Precinct held our "Biggest Morning Tea" on The Colonial Tramcar Restaurant".

It was truly a wonderful morning where guests enjoyed a morning tea of finger cut sandwiches with a variety of fillings, scones served with jam and cream, petit fours, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, juice and some indulged in a glass or two of champagne.

The Tramcar Restaurant took us through the beautiful streets of Melbourne whilst the guests were entertained by Jo, the singing Waiter.

We managed to raise over $1500 for the event, which was donated directly to The Cancer Council for their fight against cancer.

Because of the success of this event, we plan to make this an Annual Event and run two Tramcar Restaurants to enable more guests to attend.

Thanks were given to Yarra Trams & The Colonial Tramcar Restaurant for time and assistance.

Berendale School's Morning Tea

Reflections form the host Dr Maree McCutcheon -

Berendale School is a special school for secondary students with special needs. For a number of years the school has actively supported the ABMT with students taking the orders and donations, baking the cakes, muffins & scones etc., also preparing and serving the food and drinks on the day.

William Buck Partner Bake Off
As part of the William Buck Partner Bake Off, Partners were required to bring along an item for morning tea, which they had cooked themselves (which meant with NO assistance from home). The rest of the staff, after making a donation to the Cancer Council, taste tested the entries, and voted for the Partner who won the title of 'Bake Off Champion Chef' for 2008.

City West Tae Kwon Do Event
Patricia Ash has been hosting an event for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea every year since 1999, with her Netball Team, the Funky Angels.

In 2008, Patricia’s 10th year of participation, she teamed up with Frank and Silvana De Pasquale from City West Tae Kwon Do.

Parents, families and friends of City West Tae Kwon Do, warmly embraced the event, which was hosted at the Centre in Hopper’s Crossing.

Guests were able to experience the club’s terrific atmosphere. There were colouring in and guessing competitions for the kids and the City West Demo Team, treated guests to a very special performance.

The Club strives to make a positive contribution within the Wyndham community and achieved this in May by making their cup count in the fight against Cancer.

Cancer Council Schools Competition Event
This year The Cancer Council Victoria ran a schools competition for the Biggest, Brightest, and Best Teacup competition.

The top three finalists were invited to a Mad Hatters Tea Party held at The Cancer Council Victoria’s head office. We all enjoyed a cup of tea and a bite to eat, and were amazed at the 3 final entries.

A big congratulations to Ocean Grove Primary School, Nungurner Primary School and Mallacoota P-12 College who all did an amazing job.
